USA: Jolts employment offers increased to 7.74 million in January

According to the Employment and Labor Rotation Survey (Jolts) on Tuesday of the US Labor Statistics Office (BLS), Employment Offers totaled 7.74 million at the end of January. This figure, which exceeded the expectations of analysts of 7.63 million, follows at 7,508 million positions reported in December (reviewed from 7.60 million).

In the press release: “The hiring remained at 5.4 million, and the total separations changed little to 5.3 million. Within the separations, the resignations (3.3 million) and the dismissals and severance (1.6 million) changed little.”

Market reaction

The dollar remains well defensive, navigating its seventh consecutive day in red and dragging the dollar index (DXY) to a minimum of several months about 103.40.
