A federal judge today ordered the Trump government to release a student at the Tafch University who has been holding a Louisiana immigrant detention center for six weeks because she wrote an opinion article, critical of the attitude of her school. Regional Judge William Sessions, during the hearing in Berlington, Vermont, approved the request for release by Roumeissa Ozturk, who was at the center of one of the most prominent students’ cases, in Universities. A little earlier, a federal Court of Appeal rejected the government’s request for the re -arrest of Mohsen Mantawi, a Palestinian student at Columbia University.
