On Friday, the House of Representatives will vote to approve US President Joe Biden’s climate and health plan, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Wednesday.
In a letter to Democratic lawmakers, Pelosi called the $430 billion climate, tax and health care program, also known as the “De-Inflation Act,” “life-changing legislation” for Americans.
It is noted that the program was approved on Sunday by the Senate, but only with the votes of the Democrats, after 18 months of negotiations and a night of marathon debates.
The Senate’s approval of the program was a major victory for the US president at a time when such victories are needed with less than 100 days to go before the US midterm elections.
After approval by the House of Representatives, the program will go to the Oval Office to be ratified by the US president and thus become the law of the land.
