Following a London meeting on Wednesday (23), which aimed to promote United States efforts toward the end of the war in Ukraine, US authorities recognized that there are still disagreements about the structure and schedule proposed for the end of the conflict.
A high US employee said there is still misunderstandings with Ukraine after the meeting, including the issue of sequencing and if a ceasefire and an agreement on the wide structure of the Trump government come first.
However, Keith Kellogg, a special envoy from Trump to Ukraine who also attended the meetings, told the CNN who believes this round of negotiations was “frank, positive and productive”.
Still, US officials do not rule out the possibility of a ceasefire, although they press that Russia and Ukraine agree with the structure they have presented.

American authorities say, in a public and private manner, that time is running out, although they have not cited an explicit deadline.
At the end of last week, US Secretary Marco Rubio warned that the United States could end his efforts to end the conflict in “days” if there were no signs of progress.
However, European authorities insist that there was progress at the London meeting to lead Ukrainians to consider conversations about territory recognition, but fear that this is short of Trump’s expectations.
“We have managed to convince Ukrainians to take a position more favorable to the US government,” said a European authority after Wednesday’s discussions (23).
But the Ukrainians want a ceasefire before entering the issue of concessions, and Trump seems to be ignoring the idea of a truce and insisting on a final peace agreement, the authority said.
“I think they (Ukraine) have accepted that they would have to move, but of course there is an internal real difficulty for Ukraine president to get close to where the US government wants them to be on territorial issues,” the European added.
