The United States Census Bureau reported that the trade deficit in July it was $70.6 billion, down $10.2 billion from June.
The exports were $259,300 million (5,000 more than in June) and the imports $329.9 billion ($9.7 billion less than the previous month).
So far this year, the deficit is $136.6 billion, 29% higher than what was accumulated at the height of 2021.
The dollar was not affected by the data, as expected. The Federal Reserve’s Beige Book on the state of the US economy will be released later on Wednesday.
