USA: Texan woman on trial for murdering pregnant woman to steal her unborn baby

It started at Texas of United States of America the much-lauded trial of the murder pregnant woman with the intention of abducting her unborn baby, in October 2020.

Taylor Parker, 29, who is facing the death penalty, had friends and family believe for months that she was expecting a child. She frequently posted about her alleged pregnancy on social media, even going so far as to buy a fake belly (made of silicone) which she hid under her clothes to be convincing.

In fact, she was no longer able to bear children, having had her uterus removed.

On Oct. 9, 2020, Taylor Parker visited Reagan Simmons-Hancock, a 21-year-old woman who was in the final weeks of her pregnancy, and stabbed her more than 100 times, according to the indictment. After cutting open her abdomen to grab her unborn baby, he left the house, leaving the victim’s 3-year-old daughter sleeping in another room.

Taylor Parker was arrested a short time later, about 15 kilometers away from the crime scene, driving her car and holding the baby in her arms. She claimed she had just given birth…

The infant was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The trial for the gruesome crime that shocked public opinion began last Monday in New Boston, east of Dallas, and is expected to last at least a month.

The testimony so far has revealed that a few weeks before the murder, Taylor Parker was looking for pregnant women in maternity hospitals and maternity stores in order to choose her potential victim, according to KTAL TV. At the same time, he allegedly watched several videos about caesarean sections.
