USA: The CB consumer confidence index rose to 98.0 in May

The US CB Confidence Index of the US bounces in May.

The dollar index clings to daily profits around the 99.40 region.

In May, the consumer’s moral in the US bounced, with the consumer conference index of the Board Conference, rising to 98.0 from 86.0 (revised level of 85.7), reversing the previous fall.

The mood of the consumer was strengthened in May, since the opinions on the current circumstances of the business and the labor market changed. The current situation index increased by 4.8 points to 135.9. More significantly, the Expectations Index, which measures short -term expectations on income, economic activity and employment, won 17.4 points to 72.8, still below the level of 80 points that is generally associated with fears of recession.
