The suspect as the perpetrator of mass shootings in California that killed 10 people ballroom Saturday night during Lunar New Year celebrations is a “male of Asian descent” who remains at large, nearly 11 hours after the attack, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office said today.
“At this time, our very preliminary description is that of an Asian male,” Sheriff Robert Luna said during a news conference in Monterey Park, a city whose residents are of Asian descent.
The assailant is believed to be between 30 and 50 years old, based on eyewitness descriptions, law enforcement officials said.
The condition of the ten injured from the mass shooting in Monterey ParkCalifornia, is in stable to critical condition, the sheriff said, adding that five women and five men were killed in the shooting, their ages not yet known.
Authorities are still investigating the motive for the shooting that occurred late Saturday night (local time), the sheriff said.
