USA: The two accused in the theft of Joe Biden’s daughter’s diary have pleaded guilty

Amy Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, pleaded guilty to stealing personal belongings from Ashley Biden – daughter of the president of USA, Joe Biden – in 2020, when he was a candidate in the presidential elections.

Among the personal items stolen was a manuscript calendara mobile phone and a memory card with family photos.

The daughter of the current president of the United States had left her personal belongings at a friend’s house in Florida, in the spring of 2020, where Amy Harris stayed at the time.

Harris and Kurlander are accused of trying to sell the diary to his campaign staff Donald Trump, which reportedly rejected their offer. Next, they turned to a conservative group called “Project Veritas,” known for its support of the Republican mogul.

According to court documents, they received $20,000 each from Project Veritas, which ultimately decided not to publish stories from the diary because it was unable to confirm that it actually belonged to Biden’s daughter. The New York Times reports that Project Veritas a few weeks before the 2020 presidential election attempted to trick Ashley Biden into admitting that it was her personal diary.

The FBI launched an investigation after the conservative website National File published content of the diary that included Ashley Biden’s personal data. The National File claims it received the documents from a member of the Project Veritas team.

Amy Harris and Robert Kurlander face up to five years in prison.
