Three prisoners in prison of Missouri of USA, escapedafter digging holes in the plaster ceiling of their cells and being dragged to a metal box leading to the outside world.
The three men, Lance Stevens, 29, Matthew Crawford, also 29, and Christopher Blevins, 37, escaped from Barry County Jail in Casville, most likely early Friday morning. It is unknown when the guards realized their absence. They knew each other and are considered “armed and dangerous,” Barry Sheriff Danny Boyd said.
There is no indication that the fugitives received any assistance from prison staff or other detainees.
Blevins and Stevens were in jail on drug and weapons charges. Crawford had been convicted of theft.
About two months ago, an Alabama inmate escaped with the help of a prison officer who had taken him to court. Casey White, 38, was arrested after a pursuit of his vehicle in Indiana. Penitentiary officer Vicky White, 56 (the two were not related), shot herself and ended her life.
