Three people were hit by balls outside a baseball stadium in Washington, as a result of which the match that was taking place at that time was stopped and the stadium was evacuated.
This was stated by Deputy Chief of Police of Washington Asan Benedict, with the authorities review downwards the initial report of the four injured.
Two of them were in one of the two vehicles involved in the incident, while the third person is a woman who was on the sidewalk outside the stadium, according to him.
“People watching the match inside the stadium at no time during the incident were in danger. It was not an incident with a gunman in action. “Everything was done off the pitch,” Benedict told reporters.
The spectators of the match between the Washington Nationals and the San Diego Pandres heard the shots, with the match being quickly interrupted.
Two French Agency reporters reported hearing ten shots.
