If Henry hits south-east New England like a cyclone, he will be the first to hit land directly after Hurricane Bob in 1991.
“I do not know what to expect, it has been a long time since we were faced with anything serious,” said Clara Pressing, who lives in Falmouth, a city in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in an NBC affiliate.
Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Connecticut Ned Lamont have mobilized the National Guard in their states to assist in possible rescue and wrecking operations.
In New York, the largest city in the United States, emergency management officials warned that heavy rainfall and sweeping winds could cause flooding on roads and reduce visibility.
