USA: Vacancies fell to 10.7 million

U.S. job vacancies fell more than expected in June, with data suggesting that demand for labor in the country has begun to tighten.

In particular, job vacancies fell in June to 10.7 million, having decreased by 605,000 compared to the previous month, according to data announced by the US Department of Labor.

Economists polled by Reuters had on average expected 11 million jobs to be announced.

It is recalled that the US government had announced last week that wages and salaries rose 1.4% in the second quarter after rising 1.2% in the January-March period. On an annual basis they were strengthened by 5.3%, presenting the largest increase since 2001.
