The US weekly jobless claims fell by 2,000 in the week of March 15, reaching 210,000 compared to the previous 212,000 (figure revised upward from 209,000), as published by the US Department of Labor. The figure improves market expectations, which expected an increase to 215,000.
The four-week average of weekly jobless claims has risen to 211,250 from 208,750, its highest level in three weeks.
The Continued unemployment claims have increased to 1,807,000 from 1,803,000 in the week of March 8.

He Dollar Index (DXY) has reacted with a slight rebound to the weekly unemployment claims data and the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index, which has also improved expectations. The DXY has risen to 103.61, where it gains 0.20% on the day.
