The weekly unemployment benefit requests of the United States fell by 3,000 in the week of November 3, going from the previous 220,000 to 217,000. The figure improves consensus expectations, which placed them at 218,000.
The indicator’s four-week average rises to 212,250 from 210,750 (revised slightly upward from 210,000).
The continued unemployment claims increased by 22,000 in the week of October 27, jumping to 1,834,000 from 1,812,000 (revised downward from 1,818,000). The result worsens the forecasts, since the consensus expected an increase to 1,820,000.
USD reaction
The Dollar Index (DXY) has barely reacted to the data, currently trading above 105.60, gaining 0.07% on the day. Previously, the USD reached 105.75, the daily ceiling.
