USD / MXN falls to four-week lows, look at 19.80

USD / MXN is falling on Monday and recently fell to 19.84, reaching the lowest level since August 18. The price remains in the minimum area, looking at the 19.80 area.

The dollar presents mixed results in the market. The DXY rose to highs in weeks supported by the advance of the dollar against the euro and the yen. Faced with emerging markets, it does not show a clear result. The The Mexican peso, showing no major gains, remains firm clinging to recent gains against the dollar.

With no relevant data these days in Mexico, in the US the most important figures for the week will be released on Tuesday, with the retail inflation data for August. There will be no speeches by Federal Reserve officials, since the period in which they must remain without making statements prior to the next meeting begins.

On the technical side, the USD / MXN presents a bearish tone and is below last week’s lows. The next strong support is seen at 19.80, which if given up would suggest a prolongation of weakness, exposing 19.60. To the upside, just above 20.00 the downward pressure would be relieved, while above 20.15, more gains will look possible.
