The results of a fresh study indicate that Xiaomi was the leader in the market for used locally made smartphones in China in the second quarter of this year. Overall, however, Apple is in the lead with 36.53% of the market. Xiaomi is second, followed by Vivo, Huawei, Oppo and Honor.
The Zhuanzhuan Group’s “mobile phone market report for the second quarter of 2021” showed that Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has overtaken Vivo to become the largest domestic smartphone brand in the used phone market. At the same time, Honor showed an increase in its position in the secondary market by as much as 88.34% in the second quarter, although at the same time it ranks sixth and 6.3% of the Chinese used smartphone market.
An interesting trend was also noted: the prices of used iPhone smartphones are constantly decreasing. On the other hand, prices for used flagship smartphone models from Huawei have skyrocketed. For example, a used Mate 40 Pro went up in price by 96.45%.
The most popular models in the aftermarket are those with support for fifth generation networks. Second-quarter sales in the used mobile phone market increased by 10.76% compared to the first quarter.
