In the final report of the investigation that asked for the preventive detention of student Alicia Muller, the Civil Police stated that she presented the attitude of someone who is sure of impunity and that she should never practice medicine.
Alicia was indicted nine times for embezzlement for embezzling almost R$ 1 million from the graduation commission of her class at the USP Faculty of Medicine (FMUSP).
“He is a medical student who should have saved lives, he was not even capable of respecting his classmates, he was not even capable of thinking about the financial effort made by most of the students when he committed the crimes”, wrote the delegate Guilherme Santos Azevedo in the final report.
“A person with this profile and character should never practice medicine, a most noble function”, he added.
In another part of the report, the delegate points out that Alicia felt encouraged to continue making withdrawals from the graduation committee for not being punished.
“The attitude presented by Alicia is that of a person who is sure of impunity, to the point of leaving the interrogation smiling,” he wrote.
Investigation asked for preventive detention
The police investigation, completed by the 16th police district of São Paulo on the embezzlement of almost R$ 1 million from the graduation commission of the Faculty of Medicine of USP (FMUSP), calls for the preventive arrest of student Alicia Muller, 25 years old, indicted nine times for misappropriation.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the request is under analysis by the Justice.

The inquiry is being evaluated by the Public Ministry of São Paulo, which may file a complaint, add other crimes, ask for more evidence or close the case.
“Misappropriation” carries a maximum sentence of 4 years in prison. If the complaint is filed and accepted as it stands, she could face up to 36 years in prison.
The investigators believe that it is difficult for the penalty to reach this magnitude, since Alicia is the primary defendant and has no prior record, despite responding in another lawsuit for money laundering and embezzlement, because of unpaid lottery bets that add up to R$ 193,000 .
In a note, Alicia’s defense criticized the request for preventive detention and said that it does not apply in this case.
She also reported that she always had an unblemished conduct and recognized as such by teachers and peers, leaving the outcome of inquiries to the due process of law and preserving the presumption of innocence.
