Usual income grows again after two years in the quarter to July, says IBGE

The usual real income of Brazilian workers grew again after two years, reaching R$ 2,693 in the quarter ended in July, said the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) this Wednesday (31).

The number is 2.9% higher than that recorded in the previous quarter, and 2.9% lower than in the same period in 2021.

“The increase was driven by the income of employers (6.1%, or more than R$369) of the military and statutory civil servants (3.8%, or more of R$176) and of self-employed workers (3.0% or more R$ 63)”, said the institute. The other groups did not change.

The usual real income mass was R$ 260.7 billion, an increase of 5.3% compared to the quarter ended in April and 6.1% in the annual comparison.

The data are from Pnad Contínua (Continuous National Household Sample Survey), which also show that the unemployment rate in Brazil stood at 9.1% in the quarter ended in July, down 1.4 percentage points compared to the quarter. previous year, ended in April.
