LG has unveiled the Tone Free FP 2021 fully wireless earbuds. It’s a lineup that includes three models: FP5, FP8 and FP9.
All models have active noise cancellation, three microphones for each earphone and waterproof (IPx4). LG also talks about reduced dimensions and new emitters.
In addition, all three models support Whispering Mode or Whisper Mode. In this mode, the right earbud takes over the function of a dedicated microphone, and the user can bring it close to his mouth to speak very quietly. This allows you to both make the conversation more confidential and, for example, improve the audibility for the interlocutor when the owner of the headphones is in a very noisy place.
Only the older FP9 model has got another very interesting feature. These headphones can be used with non-Bluetooth devices. For these purposes, the device case is equipped with its own transmitter, and the user just needs to connect it via USB-C to the source. For example, it could be a game console, an old car audio system, or something else.
Also, the cases of the FP9 and FP8 models are equipped with UV lamps for disinfecting the headphones. In addition, older models can offer an autonomy of 10 hours versus 8 hours for the FP5. Interestingly, the FP8 is the only model in the lineup with a wireless charging case.
LG has not announced prices yet.
