The Minister of Tourism, Vassilis Kikilias, held a working meeting today with the Mayor of Mykonos, Konstantinos Koukas, and institutions of the island.
During the meeting, Mr. Kikilias presented a study prepared by the Ministry of Tourism for the sustainable development of Mykonos and discussed proposed actions, on an island that is a global destination.
These actions concern the completion of spatial planning, the development and completion of infrastructure, the integrated management of solid waste and liquid waste, the management of water resources, the management of cruising and the tackling of the traffic issue.
As the Minister of Tourism pointed out: “Our common goal is to achieve in Mykonos a sustainable tourism development model, focused on the comparative advantages of the island. Mykonos is a very popular destination worldwide and is at the core of our strategic decision to make Greece a model tourism development “.
