V. Korkidis for the announcements of K. Mitsotakis: The new measures against accuracy are calculated in cost and duration

The new measures against the accuracy announced by the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis are considered in cost and duration, estimates the president of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vassilis Korkidis.

K. Korkidis stated: “The primary concern remains the defense of households and businesses from the ‘twin’ energy and food crisis, with the support of Greek society in the sensitive sectors of housing, food and transport. The three-month framework for strengthening households, businesses and farmers, take concrete measures to reduce as much as possible the effects of the huge increases and rampant inflation hitting the European and Greek economies. interventions that will support everyone, but will also focus primarily on those most in need, rightly continuing the effort to empower as many vulnerable citizens as possible, but also those who are facing extreme difficulties in meeting extreme current increases, fuel and food, which are disproportionate to the disposition income and it is estimated that they have burdened 33-52% of our family budget. Ensuring the development course of our economy is essential for the entrepreneurship of the place until the completion of the last post-memorandum evaluation in order to move to an investment stage. The small and medium-sized markets are fully aware that the situation is difficult, and in the long run, as the war goes on, it will only get worse. However, the production and supply chain must not be disrupted and this requires ‘hemodynamic’ measures in the real economy. We understand that we must not jeopardize fiscal stability and market confidence, nor start from the beginning. We do not want to undermine tomorrow, but not to ‘bend’ today, from energy costs. It is indeed extremely doubtful, even if there was more fiscal space, that it could not cover the total cost of the new and previous problems facing the market. The ‘reasonable’ additional financial assistance of 1.1 billion euros, supports at the national level, both horizontal households and businesses, and targeted 3.2 million citizens, but only partially and insufficiently. At European level, therefore, every institutional tool available to the EU and every amount available in the Structural Funds must be used to address global speculative accuracy. “The government must stick to the substantiated proposals it has put forward for effective and immediate central European intervention, in order to address the economic consequences of the war with generous subsidies, which, however, will not be written into the deficits of EU member states.”
