Vaccinated in South Korea – masks will not be mandatory outdoors from July

The time when they circulated without a mask will be remembered again by those vaccinated in South Korea, as from July they will not be obliged to wear it outdoors, as long as they have received at least one dose of their COVID-19 vaccine.

According to AMPE, the announcement is part of an effort to persuade older citizens to get vaccinated, as Seoul wants at least 70% of its population (52 million) to be immunized by September, up from 7% today.

In addition, citizens who have received at least one installment will be allowed to attend rallies from June, Prime Minister Kim Jong-un said during a meeting with officials today.

He added that the restrictive measures will be adjusted after the immunization campaign for him coronavirus reach the target percentage of the population.

Vaccination of citizens between the ages of 65 and 74 will begin tomorrow Thursday at 12,000 clinics and vaccination centers.

As of midnight yesterday, South Korea recorded 707 cases of SARS-CoV-2 and 2 other deaths of patients with COVID-19. The toll from the pandemic has so far reached 1,940 deaths out of a total of 137,682 infections, according to official figures. The mortality rate is at 1.41%.

To date, 3.9 million people have received at least one dose of their COVID-19 vaccine, of which 1.9 million have received both.
