Valve Denies Apple Information The Cupertine Giant Needs To War With Epic Games

As you know, the conflict between Apple and Epic Games continues, although now the noise around it has subsided. As it turned out, not only Epic Games tried to win over the large gaming market, as well as the IT market in general.

Valve Denies Apple Information The Cupertine Giant Needs To War With Epic Games

The case documents revealed that Apple was reaching out to Valve to obtain data on Steam’s annual financial performance, which would allow the Cupertino giant to estimate the total market size of Epic Games’ available digital channels. In theory, this would show that there is a lot of competition, and Apple’s rules do not affect it.

However, Valve refused to provide the relevant data to Apple, noting that the request was too extensive and required the disclosure of very confidential information. In addition, Valve questioned the very fact that Apple really needed all this information. This is despite the fact that the Epic Games Store is a direct competitor to Steam, and Valve could help Apple in the war with Epic Games.

Interestingly, the situation does not end there. The fact is that Apple and Valve filed a joint lawsuit, indicating that the companies failed to agree. So now it will be up to the court to decide whether Valve should be forced to disclose information of interest to Apple.
