Antonio Ney Latorraca was born in Santos, São Paulo, on July 25, 1944. Son of a crooner and a chorus girl who performed in casinos, he grew up surrounded by the world of art.
He began his career as a child, with a role in a Record radio soap opera. At the age of 20, in 1965, he made his professional debut in the theater, acting in the play “Reportagem de Um Tempo Mau”, by Plínio Marcos .
This was just the first of many. Only in the 1970s did Torraca appear in major shows such as “Hair” (1970) and “Jesus Christ Superstar”.
In the same decade, the actor joined the fixed cast of his first soap opera, “Escalada”, from TV Globo in the role of Felipe, a rich young man in love with Fernanda, the piano teacher played by Nathalia Timberg.
