Vanity Fair Stories 2022, Andrea Delogu: «Were you also fooled by Dirty Dancing?»

After the success of the previous four editions, the Vanity Fair Storiesthe largest fully live event of Vanity Fair which for the first time is staged at Giorgio Gaber Opera House in Milan (via Larga 14).

This year’s theme The change is you, stories that change the world. Many characters alternate on the stage who are an active part of the change: actors and directors, comedians and singers, writers, dancers, key figures of culture.

On the stage of Vanity Fair Stories also arrives Andrea Delogu, Italian television and radio presenter, writer and actress. No presentation, she enters, alone and takes a survey: “Who in the audience has already turned 40?”. Because her speech starts from there, the fulcrum of his 40 and I’mthe show that is bringing to Italian theaters and which tells the story of women on the threshold of 40 years: the halfway point, the crisis and the rebirth, freedom and the battles against clichés.

And you start everything from the “faults” of the film Dirty Dancing“because it made us overestimate the holidays with our parents, because it fueled our Red Cross nurse spirit (if it’s an asshole, it’s an asshole), because it made us believe that there was a chance for everyone and it created a entire generation of women incapable of being satisfied.

When you get to 40 years things change, you begin to think differently and she explained it well in this meeting at Vanity Fair Stories, where she spoke a lot about herself, from her life in the community to her new love, Luigi «Much younger than me, he is 24 years old. He is good, good and defends me. Oh God, after this outing, since he’s so shy, he won’t talk to me for a week!”

His entire speech, complete monologue, can be found in the video above.
