After the success of the previous four editions, the Vanity Fair Storiesthe largest fully live event of Vanity Fair which for the first time is staged at Giorgio Gaber Opera House in Milan (via Larga 14).
This year’s theme The change is you, stories that change the world. Many characters alternate on the stage who are an active part of the change: actors and directors, comedians and singers, writers, dancers, key figures of culture.
Among these also i Nuclear Tactical Penguinswho just won the Best Italian Act at the Mtv Emas 2022and the new album “Fake News” due out Dec. 2, with a series of state dates to follow in 2023.
Elio Biffi, Matteo Locati, Simone Pagani, Nicola Buttafuoco, Lorenzo Pasini, Riccardo Zanotti on the stage of the Vanity Fair Stories they recounted their beginnings: «It wasn’t that easy, even if we’d do it all over againbecause everything we have done has flowed into our baggage, it has been what has allowed us to grow. At first, no one “considered” us (the chosen word is a little stronger, but here, censored, ed). In the beginning, to get people to participate in our concerts, we had them go on stage and play our instruments. Now it’s incredible to think that we are in stadiums thinking instead that at the beginning the entire venues where we performed were smaller than this stage».
Then the audience grew: «In the initial exaltation of the first results we went on stage saying: “Ciao Grosseto”, and perhaps there was an audience of very few people. We learned that it is better never to say these things, also because among the ‘else there is the risk of being in the wrong place…».
The beginnings. Because now fans love them so much who use their concerts to sign important moments in their livesfrom the marriage proposal to the sharing of personal events: «Very beautiful things happen, maybe in the future we will make them happen, we can be the protagonists: maybe a nice marriage proposal between us… We love interacting with the public: this A very beautiful thing happened in the summer, a girl from Genoa threw a letter on stage in which she detailed her storyeven her eating problems, and told how our music has helped her overcome her problems. Well, thinking about it, I don’t know what better music could ask for». And again: «Music is a simple language, which can take root easily, the claim of music is precisely to simplify the language to really try to change the world. It’s not the executive gesture of a song, of course, but like any work of art, it’s the means to reach people».
And if they can’t talk about their album, they can talk about Fake News: «The worst fake news about it “Fake News” was the one according to which we should have disbanded in September. We were all on vacation and everyone wrote to us to ask or complain, presenters and politicians, friends and relatives. Something that also made us understand how many people do not understand the solidity of our group». Among the many fake news, one in particular is very funny: «I don’t know how it came about, but there was a time when someone believed that we were from Caserta. But I say, do you hear us how we talk? Do you hear Riccardo? Does he look like someone from Caserta?».
