Vanity Fair Stories 2022, Tananai: «Through your music you can really help someone»

Tananai arrives on stage “disheveled” and with the bare minimum of make-up. «I was a guest at Domenica In and they also removed my dark circles. I didn’t feel like this, I am like this and this is how I want to appear ». After the success of the previous four editions, the Vanity Fair Storiesthe largest fully live event of Vanity Fair which for the first time is staged at Giorgio Gaber Opera House in Milan (via Larga 14).

This year’s theme The change is you, stories that change the world. Many characters alternate on the stage who are an active part of the change: actors and directors, comedians and singers, writers, dancers, key figures of culture.

Tananai’s life has changed in a year after the success that arrived despite the last place in Sanremo 2022. «I’m the same person, I haven’t changed so much. There was a moment where I could change, but I had people around who advised me well. I got to know professional ethics this year».

It goes from the law on rave (“I think it’s clear that it was a choice dictated by gut instinct, never positive by making laws. Instinct makes sense in art, in creativity”) music: «When they ask me the genre of my music I say pop to take it at 360 degrees, not committed or disengaged».

«I feel the urgency to tell my life and for me everything is busy. At the moment I can’t go any further. Being able to write and play allows me to dig inside. I hope in the future to also tell about things that don’t belong to me » she says.

“It would have made more sense to come out with an album after Sanremo, but I didn’t have the songs I wanted,” he explains, reiterating that it’s all a personal matter and a special moment. Hers are the first kisses. “I’m very affectionate, I tend to be physical, one problem I have is that I tend to disappear, I can’t be present in the people who matter to me”. However, he says that the best thing that happened to him was going to the hospital and making sick children feel special. «Through your music you can really help someone, turn people’s lives in a positive way with a gift that was given to you».
