VeChain platform announced the launch of a new system on its blockchain. It helps companies better account for their carbon footprint.
The system is called the Digital Carbon Footprint and will be delivered on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. Blockchain will help fight traditional supply chain problems – lack of trust and transparency. The system will track carbon dioxide emissions at all stages of the production chain.
“It will allow companies to record and store key data, integrate it with the world’s leading audit and insurance companies. The data can then be very valuable and make the company more efficient in general. It is a sophisticated and scalable platform for any company, providing more convenient and better quality accounting, tracking and reporting of carbon dioxide reduction initiatives along the entire production chain, ”the VeChain blog notes.
Recall that VeChain is originally a Chinese project, and the initiative may be in demand at the state level, because it is precisely because of significant CO emissions2 when mining bitcoin, the Celestial Empire banned this activity.
