According to a UN spokesman, humanitarian aid vehicles were attacked Wednesday in Darfur in the extensive area of West Sudan yesterday. The attack was recorded after the call of US governments and other states, including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, to “humanitarian pauses” of hostilities in Sudan, with the invocation of their strong concern about the deterioration of the situation in the country. The attack took place near the city of Melit, in the state of North Darfour. Three of the sixteen trucks of the humanitarian vehicle were damaged and caught fire, Gytanashathorn said, adding that staff are “body”. The spokesman did not clarify who was behind the attack.
