Vehicle production in the third quarter of this year increased by 11.6% when compared to the previous three months, showed a survey by the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) released this Friday (7th). The figure adds automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses, to a total of 665 thousand produced between July, August and September this year.
“The closing of the quarter represented an important step in the recovery of the Brazilian automotive market this year, after a timid first quarter, due to the lack of electronic components, and a second quarter of beginning of improvement”, said the association in a note.
Between September 2022 and September 2021, vehicle production rose by 19.3%. In relation to August, there was a drop of 12.7%.
“Historically, September does not repeat the good numbers of August, a longer month without holidays,” said Márcio de Lima Leite, president of Anfavea, in a statement sent to the press.
Year-to-date, the number of vehicles produced between January and September 2022 was 1.756 million, 6.3% higher than the 1.652 million seen in the same period in 2021.
Licensing also showed an increase in the comparison between the months of September, of 25.1%; from August to last month, however, there was a drop of 7%.
In addition, exports dropped 39% compared to August and rose 20.7% compared to September 2021.
