Who was Marília Mendonça

Marília Mendonça began to stand out as a young composer, at 12 years old. He collected some of the biggest hits in Brazil, such as “Infiel”, “Supera”, “Ciumeira” and “De Quem é a Culpa”.

Her success in the sertanejo brought Marília the reputation of “queen of suffering”. She was one of the forerunners of the “feminine” movement, marked by the rise of women singing the genre that, until the early 2000s, was predominantly male.

Despite her young age, Marília began collecting great successes as a songwriter while still in her teens. Her lyrics started to gain fame being interpreted by big names in music. “It’s With Her That I Am” – in the voice of Cristiano Araújo, “Until you return” and “Take Care of It” – success by the duo Henrique & Juliano are some of the successes written by Marília.
