Venezuela Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello said on Wednesday that an Argentine, a Spaniard and a Bulgarian were arrested on charges of “conspiracy” against the upcoming regional and parliamentary elections.
Cabello made the statement during his weekly television show, three days before the elections.
Foreigners would have been captured at sea with gunpowder loads, according to government sources.
Venezuelan authorities regularly report conspiracies and planned attacks against President Nicolás Maduro, the country’s power grid and other targets.
