Venice’s new measure against over-tourism – Entrance ticket to 10 euros from 2025

Venice adopted a new measure against hypertourism. From next year, tourists who will visit Galinotati for a single day and without an overnight stay will have to pay an entrance fee of 10 euros. This year, the experimental period of the entrance ticket provided for the payment of 5 euros for each visitor. The new ticket will be imposed for a total of fifty-four days, mostly weekends, from mid-April to the end of July. For anyone who makes a reservation on the special website of the municipality of Venice at least four days before visiting this unique city, a “discount” of 5 euros will be provided. As this year, residents of the Veneto region, students, people who have to undergo medical examinations and those moving to Venice for work will be exempt from payment. After 4 pm, finally, entry to the “city of the doges” will be free for everyone. Source: RES
