A woman who claimed for years to be the secret mother of Vladimir Putin died at an age 97 years old. The woman, who lived in poverty, said for decades that the Russian president was her son, born after having an affair with a married man.
Putin has never publicly acknowledged Vera Putina’s claimsdespite the fact that the woman produced photos of her son that bore a striking resemblance to the now 70-year-old Russian leader.
Vera lived in the extremely poor village of Metekhi, in Agriculture. She said that she married the leader of Russia when she was only 10 years old.
The woman appeared publicly for the first time in 1999, however Putin he wrote in his autobiography that he was born and raised in St. Petersburg, to a woman named Maria and his father, also named Vladimir Putin.

The Russian leader claimed that both his parents died of cancer in the 1990s. But details about the leader’s childhood were extremely difficult to findwith the main sources for his early life often being Putin himself.
Putin’s “secret mother”, who died this week, had not been in contact with him for 60 years. Sources in Georgia confirmed, according to dailymail.co.ukthat Vera died of “old age” in the capital, Tbilisi. On Tuesday, she was buried in her village, Metekhi.
According to her, Putin was the couple’s third son, his two older brothers having died, one in infancy and the other of starvation. Records from the town of Metekhi show that a Vladimir Putin was enrolled in a village school from 1959 to 1960 and he was born Georgian and not Russian.

Vera Putina had mentioned in one of her last interviews that “my dream is not to die without being seen and spoken to by Vova (as he called him) at least once. I often see him in my dreams, but he doesn’t want to talk to me. Both in life and in dreams, he’s upset about what I’ve done, he can’t forgive me.”
