Verizon had a net profit of US$ 6.7 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, an increase of 41.4% compared to the same period of 2021, according to a balance sheet published on Tuesday (24).
In adjusted terms, the American telecommunications operator recorded earnings per share of US$ 1.19 in the same period, in line with the forecast of analysts consulted by FactSet.
Net revenue, on the other hand, totaled US$ 35.3 billion in the fourth quarter, up 3.5% compared to the result of the same period of the previous year and above the expectation of FactSet, of US$ 35.1 billion. The provision for credit losses was US$ 1.611 billion, above the US$ 789 million recorded in the same period in 2021.
For 2023, Verizon forecasts adjusted earnings per share of $4.55 to $4.85, below the FactSet consensus of $4.96. After the balance sheet, Verizon shares were down nearly 2% in premarket New York around 9:40 am (GMT).
