“Very small incidents”, says Trump about invasion of the Capitol

During his first interview after taking office as President of the United States, Donald Trump spoke about the pardon given to the Capitol invaders on January 6, 2021 and referred to the police officers attacked that day as “very small incidents”.

“They knew that the election was rigged and were protesting against the vote,” expressed the Republican regarding the action of supporters who contested the result of the 2020 elections and tried to prevent certification.

As soon as he took office, on Monday (20), Trump pardoned the protesters, stating that the pardon would cover 1,500 people, which should cover almost all of the accused.

Since the announcement of the pardon, convicts began to leave prisons, the benefit given to some people generated repercussions, as in the case of those accused of attacking one of the police officers present during the invasion, who died the following day.

During the interview, Trump commented on his promise to release FBI records on JFK’s assassination, just as he did in his first term.

Asked about China and Tik Tok, the Republican dismissed concerns that the app’s data collection could leave Americans’ personal information vulnerable to the Chinese.

“Is it so important for China to spy on young people? Kids watching crazy videos?”, he expressed.

He signed an executive order delaying enforcement of the federal ban on TikTok, which took effect on January 19.

Trump also criticized Biden’s decision to grant pardons to his own family members. “And you know, the funny thing, maybe the sad thing, is that he didn’t give himself a pardon,” he exclaimed to the interviewer.
