Very useful innovations in Google Maps. You can quickly upload photos and add missing roads, and more

Google has introduced three new features of Google Maps (Google Maps), which will help the service to become more informative and accurate, as well as more useful to users.

First, Google is launching a competition initiative to encourage users to leave more reviews for local organizations. In the coming month, users of devices based on Android in the United States will be able to take part in such a Local Love challenge. In addition to reviews and ratings, users will be able to confirm or update information about organizations, such as store opening hours.

Secondly, in the coming weeks, Google will launch a function for easily uploading photos of establishments to Google Maps. Users will be able to leave photos of organizations and establishments with a short text description, without the need to leave reviews or ratings. Such photos can be seen on the “Updates” tab when searching for a place on the maps. To add a photo, just click the “Download update with photos” button on the same tab. This feature is coming soon to the Android and iOS app.

And third, Google has begun rolling out the ability to report field changes with an editing tool in the web version of Google Maps. Users will be able to add missing roads by selecting “Edit” from the side menu and drawing the appropriate line. It will also be possible to change the direction of the road, correct the section, remove the incorrect display, rename the road, and so on.

Since road editing can be risky, Google will check user edits before making changes. Editing will appear in 80 countries around the world in the coming months.
