Intel has announced a new staffing solution. Sunil Shenoy will take over as Senior Vice President of Engineering Design on February 1.
Shenoy already worked at Intel. He left the company in 2014 after 33 years. Shenoi is returning to “lead the critical work in the design, development, validation and manufacturing of intellectual property and SoCs for customer and data center applications,” the press release said.

Shenoi most recently served as Senior Vice President and RISC-V Manager at SiFive, an Intel Capital-funded RISC-V architecture commercialization company. Shenoi was previously vice president of the platform development team at Intel, which is responsible for the development of microprocessors and SoCs. In addition, at one time he led the group of visual and parallel computing, development of microcircuits for servers and PCs.
Shenoy will report to current CEO Bob Swan until February 15th, after which new CEO Pat Gelsinger will take over as his immediate boss. As you know, Gelsinger also worked at Intel for three decades, and since 2012 has been the CEO of VMware. Gelsinger’s appointment as CEO was announced two weeks ago.
