Vgenopoulos’s audio document burns V. Thanou

LAST UPDATE 14:40

“A dark circuit in the field of Justice that operated in synergy with the SYRIZA government”, reveals during New Democracy an audio of Andreas Vgenopoulos referring to his blackmail by the former president of the Supreme Court, Vasiliki Thanou.

In a statement issued by the ruling party, he spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was not the answer.

In this context, ND asks Alexis Tsipras to give specific answers as to whether he knew what arises based on the audio for V. Thanou and whether he was concerned that the lawsuit against her filed by the businessman was filed with summary procedures.

It is noted that in an audio published today by iefimerida.gr, the businessman Andreas Vgenopoulos appears talking to a person who is supposed to mediate on behalf of Vasiliki Thanou, and who asks him for large sums of money on behalf of the former president of the Supreme Court in order to settle legal cases against him.

The announcement of ND in detail:

“What sounds shocking in the audio document that was released today, reveals a dark circuit in the field of Justice, which operated in synergy with the SYRIZA government.

Blackmail, mediation, “libraries”, bribery and persecution of whole judges who did not serve their plans, form a sad background in cases of major economic interest that refer to other regimes and not to a European rule of law.

In fact, the Supreme Court and the leadership of the Ministry of Justice are allegedly involved in these cases.

However, it seems that this was the “normality” of the SYRIZA era and the criminal circuits that grew with the tolerance of Mr. Tsipras, either targeting political opponents or blackmailing businessmen for their pending cases in Justice.

The questions that arise are many and must be answered.

Did Mr. Tsipras know what is being revealed today about the actions of the elected Mrs. Thanos who during his prime ministership became President of the Supreme Court, caretaker Prime Minister and his legal advisor, to finally appoint her Chairman of the Competition Commission?

Did it ever bother him, when he placed her in high positions, that during the presidency of Ms. Thanos, the indictment filed by the businessman against her for extortion was filed with summary proceedings without even taking the testimonies of witnesses that had been proposed?

Mr. Tsipras can no longer hide. He has to give concrete answers. ”

KINAL: To have an immediate and in-depth investigation

“The new data that come to light show -with disgusting details- that people who were very close to Mr. Tsipras and the SYRIZA ANEL Government, participated in a whole network of extortion and underground transactions with business interests”, the Movement for Change states , commenting on today’s post.

“KINAL” insists on the need for an immediate and in-depth investigation by the Greek Justice. To shed light on a dark case that continues to this day to undermine the trust of citizens in the institutions of the State.

It is a matter of Transparency and Democracy “, he states in a relevant announcement.

SYRIZA: They bring up a well-known case – If there is new information to be given to Justice

“The article on the website iefimerida.gr about the Vgenopoulos case, which was brought back to the fore today, apparently by order of Megaro Maximos, as can be seen from the hasty announcement of ND, concerns a well-known case which has been examined by Justice since in 2016 “, SYRIZA states in its announcement, pointing out at the same time that” if there is any new evidence, its owners must immediately report to Justice, which is the only one competent to assess its credibility and seriousness “.

“Beyond that, the more the Mitsotakis regime sees the siege tightening, the more it will choose fireworks and distractions, lest the public debate escape precision, the looting in the public sector with the 7 billion direct assignments, the anger of the citizens and “the complaints of even blue MEPs about the persecution of judges and journalists, who compare us with Orban’s Hungary”, SYRIZA notes and adds:

“No matter how many tapes the Mitsotakis regime pulls out of its drawer, let it know that clear skies are not afraid of lightning. Can Mr. Mitsotakis say the same about those who govern us today?”
