Those injured in the crash of a small plane about a kilometer from the runway in the city of Manoel Urbano, in the interior of Acre, were transferred to the emergency room in the state capital, according to the Acre Health Department. (Sesacre).
The accident, on Monday afternoon (18), killed Peruvian businessman Sidney Estuardo Hoyle Vega and left six others injured, including three in serious health. The victims were treated by the Mixed Unit of Manoel Urbano (AC).
The aeromedical rescue, made up of teams from the Mobile Urgency and Emergency Service (Samu) and the Integrated Air Operations Center (Ciopaer), carried out action this afternoon. Due to the severity of the situation, it was necessary to stabilize the patients to ensure a safe transfer.
Suani Camelo, 30 years old, was transferred with the support of an aircraft and is the first survivor to reach the capital. She is intubated in serious condition. Pilot Roner Mendes, 59 years old, and Amélia Cristina Rocha, 28 years old, are in serious condition.
“We first brought the most serious victim who was already intubated at the scene and all the work was to try to bring her with a minimum of stability, to be able to transport her safely”, reported Jonatha Santiago, a doctor at Samu.
Another aircraft was used to transfer the remaining survivors to the capital: the pilot, Valdir Roney de Souza Mendes, 59 years old; Amélia Cristina Rocha, 28 years old; and Bruno Fernando dos Santos, 36 years old, who are also in a serious condition.
The patients evaluated in a stable situation, Mateus Jeferson Fonte, 26 years old and Delisiane Salomão Calisto, 15 years old, will be transported by land in equipped ambulances.
The plane had its airworthiness certificate canceled
The aircraft, registered PT-JUN, crashed approximately 1 kilometer from the runway in the city of Manoel Urbano, around 230 kilometers from Rio Branco. One person died and six others were injured, according to the Fire Department.
According to the FAB system, the accident plane had its Airworthiness Verification Certificate (CVA) canceled, as the license had expired in June 2019.
CNN reached out to FAB for more details about the license cancellation, but has not yet heard back.
According to the Acre government, the aircraft had seven people on board: the pilot and six other passengers. According to FAB records, the plane could carry a maximum of three passengers plus the pilot. Therefore, there were three more passengers than allowed.
What was the crashed plane like?
The equipment that crashed this Monday was a single-engine turboprop model 182P, manufactured in 1974 by the North American company Cessna Aircraft.
In the FAB registry, the aircraft was in the name of Samuel Castro Silva. According to a list of victims sent by the Acre Fire Department, there was no one with that name among the plane's occupants.
The single-engine aircraft was denied operation as an air taxi.
According to the state government, the plane left the city of Manoel Urbano and was destined for the municipality of Santa Rosa do Purus, also in Acre, which is approximately 150 kilometers in a straight line from the starting point and on the border with The turkey.
The accident occurred around noon, local time, and 2 pm Brasília time. The survivors were taken to Manoel Urbano hospital and will be transferred to Rio Branco. The incident area is difficult to access, according to firefighters.
