The doorman Gilmar José Agostini accused of failing to provide assistance in the case of aggression against actor Victor Meyniel, entered into a criminal transaction with the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), and will have to pay a fine to end the process in court.
The hearing took place on Tuesday (17), and decreed that Gilmar will pay a minimum wage, divided into four monthly installments, to the National Cancer Institute (INCA).
The granting of the benefit by the Public Prosecutor’s Office is provided for by law in cases where the accused has committed minor infractions, such as omitting assistance in situations that do not result in death.
The penalty established for incidents of this type is possible imprisonment of one to six months or a fine. The defendant, because he was considered a first-time offender and had no criminal record, was eligible for the agreement.
In a note to CNN Victor Meyniel’s defense states that “this is just the first step towards the reestablishment of Justice”.

Actor Victor Meyniel, 26, was attacked at the entrance of a building in Copacabana by medical student Yuri de Moura Alexandre, who was arrested in the act.
Meyniel and Alexandre met at a nightclub and went to the medical student’s apartment, according to the actor’s statement. The friend who shared an apartment with the accused arrived soon.
According to the Public Ministry’s complaint, after the arrival of another resident of the property, Yuri changed his behavior and began attacking Meyniel.
The student punched Victor in the face and mouth at the building’s entrance — the attacks were recorded by a security camera that also recorded the omission of the doorman who watched the beating without moving.
The delegate responsible for the case claims that the physical attacks were motivated by homophobia, a thesis denied by the attacker’s defense.
