Victoria of Sweden, a “smart and sustainable” look for the Italian mini-tour

The trip was business but a princess always finds a place in her suitcase for a sequin dress. Victoria of Sweden and your husband Daniel Westling they arrived in Italy on October 18 but it was not a real Roman holiday but a minitour aimed at strengthening commercial relations between the Scandinavian country and ours.

For the three days between Rome and Turin full of meetings and handshakes, the hereditary princess – for the first time abroad after a year and a half – showed off outfits by Swedish brands accessorized by Italian signatures, with a diplomatic compromise of style.
On the first day of appointments Victoria took advantage of the mild Roman autumn weather wearing a champagne blouse by Early, an artisan brand founded in Stockholm in 2014 by Elin Kling e Karl Lindman, belt and handbag by Bottega Veneta and a couple of very comfortable ones ankle boots pitonati of Stinaa.J: despite the 9 centimeters of heel, the shoes have a patented orthopedic insole that allows you not to see the stars after hours and hours spent standing around exhibitions and meetings.

For the evening gala dinner at the Swedish embassy in Rome, however, the princess put off her pants to slip into a lilac sequin evening dress (the only one in the living room) by By Malina, a Swedish brand that since 2018 has decided to work on the sustainability of its entire supply chain.
As for the dress, the price is quite affordable, we are talking about 385 euros, but if you dreamed of buying it for a social event that you had marked on the calendar, bad news: obviously there is also a Victoria effect and the garment on the site turns out sold out.
The black silk clutch with the jewel bee of Wilbur & Gussie has been in the royal wardrobe since 2014: what makes the British brand successful is the mix of quality, jewels and responsible choice of materials with which the creations that come out of the London laboratory are made. It is no coincidence that they are loved by most of the royals more chic.

The next day, the last in the capital, the «career princess» opted for a power suit gray still of By Malina, a white blouse like the belt of Ralph Lauren and the white bag of Susan Szatmáry, designed in Sweden but produced in Italy with quality materials processed avoiding waste. Towards Turin by train, Victoria was seen at Termini station with a large bag, carried personally on her arm, of the Norwegian brand smart luxury (so they are defined on the site) Hippi Grace.

In the Piedmontese capital, the royal couple visited the factory in Stellantis where they were greeted by the president John Elkann. The heir to the Swedish throne showed up in a gray cashmere outfit by Soft Goat, a brand of course from Stockholm, which only wants to sell high quality garments online made with textile fiber, sustainable in terms of price and production.
In addition, Victoria wore a piece of globally famous local glory around her neck: a rhinestone necklace from the collection Conscious Exclusive Collection from H&M already seen at the presentation of Digital Stockholm Fashion Week last February.

Victoria’s clothes and accessories had to be seen from a perspective “smart and sustainable», The two adjectives that accompanied the visit of the large delegation from Stockholm in the official press releases (there was also the Minister for Foreign Trade Anna Hallberg and a group of companies and research institutes).
Between a proud celebration of the Swedish fashion and a dutiful homage to made in Italy, the princess turned the spotlight on technology applied to the footwear industry, on design, on the conscious choice of materials and on craftsmanship. Each outfit therefore told a vision. It is customary to do this among modern princesses.
