Video: 31 fans are arrested in a scuffle before the match between Flamengo and Vasco

Flamengo and Vasco fans were arrested after a disturbance before a match in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday afternoon (15).

The Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro reported that they seized bladed weapons and explosives during this afternoon’s operation.

Images shared on social media show a armored car, the “Caveirão” advancing towards those involved.

The confrontation took place before the game between the teams, scheduled for 6:30 pm this Sunday (15), for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The PM has intensified policing around Maracanã, where the game will be held.

Police also released photos of custom batons with the shield of one of the clubs which would be used by fans during the fight. See below.


THE CNN contacted the RJ Military Police to find out if the fans are still being held, and is awaiting a response.
