Professor of one of the Japanese universities, Homei Miyashita (Homei Miyashita) has created a prototype TV screen that can simulate the tastes of various dishes. As conceived by the developer, it will allow people to experience the taste of food from all over the world, while at home watching TV. In addition, such a TV screen can be used for distance learning of cooks and tasting some dishes.
The device, called Taste the TV (TTTV), is a smart screen with 10 small tubes containing various food additives and flavors. They are mixed to obtain the desired flavor, after which this mixture is sprayed onto a hygienic film on the screen.

The viewer just has to lick the screen to feel this taste.
By the way, this is not the first such invention by Khomei Miyashita. Earlier, a Japanese professor introduced a smart plug, which supposedly makes the taste of food richer, as well as a synthesizer of taste sensations. The scientist estimates his latest know-how at 100 thousand yen (about 875 dollars). That is how much, in his opinion, it would cost to create a commercial version of Taste the TV.
