Images from security cameras show the moment when actor and businessman Igor Lage, 44, is captured by armed criminals in Engenho Novo, in the north of Rio de Janeiro. Just before 5 pm on Thursday (22), two men on a motorcycle appear in the video. Afterwards, it is possible to see the victim's vehicle. The doors open for passengers to disembark. Igor was with his sister, his 11-year-old daughter and his niece.
At this moment, the first bandit appears with his gun drawn. He surrenders the actor and reviews him. A companion arrives. All occupants get out of the car and are forced to kneel on the ground. One criminal leaves in Igor's vehicle and the other continues on foot to the motorcycle on which they arrived at the location. The entire action lasts less than a minute. Frightened, the victims run down the sidewalk.
The actor, who participated in several soap operas as a child, such as “Vamp” and “Top Model”, as well as programs on TV Globo, told CNN that everything happened after the family left the actor's mother's house, on her birthday. . In addition to the car, the criminals took cell phones and other personal belongings. Not even the businessman's daughter's school supplies were left aside.
“We work for material goods and go after them to have them again. Now the trauma of spending 30 seconds, which for us seems like an eternity, is difficult to erase. My daughter, in less than two years, is the third round she has been with me. An 11 year old child. This is too hard. Our Rio is really difficult,” the actor told CNN.
The case was registered at the Piedade Police Station (24th DP). The Civil Police reported that they are working to determine who was responsible for the crime. The PM said it was not called. “We have to register incidents to have statistics that there are a lot of robberies in that region, to have better policing”, said the actor who suffered three robberies in less than two years.
Lage also said that, the day after the crime, his nephew was also robbed. There were four men on two motorcycles, who took a car, cell phone, among other goods. “The only advice I can give is: don’t react. Because they are there for whatever happens and we have a family. We want to be with our family the next day”, lamented Lage.
