Video: After storms, alligator appears in pool in Santa Catarina

An alligator was found inside a swimming pool in Florianópolis, last Friday (17).

The Military Environmental Police (PMA) was called to rescue the wild animal. According to authorities, the rains that hit the state may have taken the alligator to the residence located in the Sambaqui neighborhood, located in the north of the island.

“The recent rains in the region have led many animals to leave their natural habitats and move to urban areas,” stated the corporation.

Also according to the police, in addition to the alligator, they were called to rescue a greaser in the Morro das Pedras neighborhood, in the south of the capital.

“In these situations, PMA acts to ensure the safety of animals and the population. After being evaluated and deemed healthy, they are reintroduced into their natural environment,” police said.
