BARK Air took off for its first canine flight from New York to Los Angeles on Thursday (23).
The new airline transports dogs and their companions in luxury, including a sunlit waiting room filled with treats and toys, speedy check-ins and an onboard pup spa.
The aircraft can accommodate up to 14 people, but BARK Air does not sell more than ten tickets to accommodate ten dogs.
BARK Air's routes currently include flights between the New York metropolitan area's White Plains Airport, Van Nuys Airport near Los Angeles, and London's Biggin Hill Airport.
The price is $8,000 for a one-way international flight and $6,000 for a domestic trip for a dog and a human companion.
But these numbers could change as the airline hopes to grow and, as a result, reduce prices.
BARK Air has received more than 15,000 requests for new destinations.
The company is now considering adding flights to Paris, Milan, Chicago, Seattle and seasonal destinations in Florida and Arizona.
