Video: Anti-Kremlin soldiers' vehicle fires at Russians in Kharkiv region

The Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC), an anti-Kremlin armed group, released on Monday (13) a video showing an armored vehicle allegedly firing at Russian troops in Vovchansk, in the Kharkiv region, in Ukraine.

The caption of the video posted on the Telegram messaging app highlighted that “the enemy tried to gain positions in the meat processing plant and on one of the streets on the outskirts of Vovchansk.”

The RVC is a Ukrainian-backed paramilitary group that claims to be made up of Russians who oppose the Kremlin. Along with two other armed groups fighting President Vladimir Putin, he has launched attacks on the border between the two countries in the past.

Reuters was able to independently verify the location of the images through satellite and archival images that matched the road layout, outline of buildings and vegetation. Reuters was unable to independently verify, however, the date the recording was made.

Russia launched a ground offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region, Ukraine's second largest city, on Monday (13), attacking new areas with small groups to try to expand the battlefront and disperse Ukrainian forces, the regional governor said. .
