A Rio de Janeiro BRT bus driver died last Thursday night (20) after being run over by the bus he was driving. The case took place in the Santa Cruz neighborhood, in the west of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

Security images show that, during the trip, the driver stopped the bus and got out to see something on the side of the vehicle. At that moment, the collective starts to walk.
The driver starts running to try to stop the bus from moving. However, the professional ran in front of the vehicle and was hit. The accident happened around 10pm, on Rua Barão da Laguna.
In a statement, Mobi-Rio regretted what happened and informed that the expert will investigate the circumstances of the accident. “The company is collaborating with the authorities and will provide all the information, also making camera images available.”
The public transport system company in the city of Rio de Janeiro also said that it is providing assistance to the driver’s family. The victim’s name was not released.
